What’s on when?
• Green Monday (50 days before Orthodox Easter): a day of laughter, funny disguises and vegetarian picnics in the country.
• Easter: the biggest Greek Orthodox religious feast – on the Sunday, celebrations last all day.
• Kataklysmos, Festival of the Flood (50 days after Easter, coinciding with Pentecost): celebrations take place in all the seaside towns and include dancing, folk singing, swimming competitions and boat races.
• Seker or Ramazan Bayram: a three-day feast at the end of the Ramadan fast.
• Kurban Bayram: four days in which lambs are traditionally sacrificed and shared with the needy.
• Kypria Festival: The annual Kypria Festival is one of the most important cultural events on the Greek part of Cyprus. The programming incorporates ballet, opera, cinema, art, theatre and music.
• Cyprus International 4-day challenge: The Cyprus International 4-day challenge is an adventurous event that offers an excellent mixture of traditional road running and spectacular trail running.

Festivals & Fairs
Festivals and fairs take place all the year round. Visitors who happen to be in Cyprus in May are suggested to visit the International (State) Fair, while the Wine Festival (September) offers visitors an opportunity to try all sorts of Cyprus wines and food, free of charge or at very low prices. Other festivals include the Carnival (February), the Flower Shows, the Snow Ski games etc. In addition there are regular horse racing competitions, shooting clubs, aeronautics, sailing, diving, motorcar rallies (including the antique car rally), tennis, football games etc. There are also various international associations and cultural societies which include the Lions and the Rotary Clubs, Round Table, Toastmasters International, Armenian Center, British Council, French Cultural Center the Goethe Institute etc.
